Redbridge Borough Bin Collection

In the spring of 2021 New black wheelie bins were rolled out to the residents of the Redbridge Borough.

To many, this couldn’t come too soon as bin bags previously used were ravaged by Foxes with a passion, that it was rare to see a road without food waste strewn across front gardens and pavements.

It was a great relief that these new 140-180 litre black wheelie bins were introduced to the borough of Redbridge.

Bin Collections

Unfortunately, there has been a problem where many residents have stated that their bins have been left  uncollected. On Friday the 25th of February 2022 many bins where left uncollected in the RM8 area.

Their reason, is that they are not allowed to walk on the front of the property to collect the bin.

“bin collection teams have completely left bins uncollected”.

However, many residents are left confused as the Borough openly mentions that owners of wheelie bins left outside of the property boundary are liable to a fine up to an excess of £1000.

We urge customers to unite & contact the London Borough of Redbridge to clearly state the proper steps that its residents should take to have their rubbish collected accordingly.

Green Energy – Under Redbridge Borough

Solar Panels

Solar panels capture the sun’s energy and use it to either heat water or convert it into electricity. They don’t need direct sunlight to work and will still produce some energy on a cloudy day.

Solar electricity is a green, renewable energy, that doesn’t release any pollutants; which is why many homeowners in Redbridge are installing them in their homes.

Buying Solar Panels

After installation, solar panels on a typical UK Terraced home system will provide between 3 to 4kW of electricity and the cost of installation is on average priced between £5,000 and £8,000.

Extraction Fans

Extraction fans work to take the dampness and moisture  out of the air for use in bathrooms & basements, as well as extracting kitchen smells to stop it from permeating into the other rooms. Retrofit works as a subcontractor appointed to carry out such installations.

There has been disputes into Retrofit requiring these changes as many household feel they don’t need the extraction fans installed to be a green energy compliant household.

They believe that houses with windows that can sufficiently “air out” the bathroom or kitchen don’t require extraction fans, if anything, they believe the costs of running these fans, where they are not needed, is counter-intuitive to lowering energy bills and the green efficiency rating of a standard home.

The debate continues…

Loft insulation.

You may be mislead into believing that the council will provide a Free Grant when it comes down to adding loft insulation, however after delving into these schemes, for instance, ‘Refto Fit Works – Green Energy Programme’ under the London Borough of Redbridge require the home owner to contribute toward the grant quotation.

Home owners are likely to feel duped after realising they have to fork out on insulating their homes after hearing about the grant or seeing eye catchy advertisement material on how much money they can save on their energy bill.
