If you got the exam results you wanted, well done to you, if not don’t worry, there are still plenty of options open to you, to still get to where you want to be. Either way, your first port of call should be UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service.
Ucas is the main point of contact for people applying for higher education courses throughout the United Kingdom. They have over 2.5 million applications per year and secure places for hopeful students at more than 340 different universities and colleges on over 100,000 courses. So, whatever plans you have for the future, your journey starts here.
The first thing to consider is what subject you wish to pursue or maybe you have a career in mind and not sure where to go next to achieve it? Then consider what type of study will be right for you? Are you able to study full time or do you need to consider other options such as a part time course and to work alongside it? Are you better at practical based learning or do the thoughts of pages of coursework and presentations entice you more?
Mostly there will be entry requirements for higher level courses, what grades you already need to have in order to take your study further, although in some instances even if you just lose out on some of your results you may still gain entry onto the right course for you.
Be sure to check your entry requirements, then see what colleges and universities offer your course or maybe you already have a place in mind and wish to check what places are available.
